PORTUGAL – One Country with 1000’s of year round experiences

We went to Portugal for the first time a few years ago – and without a doubt we would return.  Amazing seafood and a variety of places to go, things to see and great weather of course.

We stayed in Cascais on the Lisbon Coast, close enough for day trips to Lisbon yet on the coast, we stayed at the Farol Design Hotel – a must stay…

The following is taken from my friends at Visit Portugal

Portugal – One country, thousands of all year-round experiences

There’s one place in Portugal everyone knows about; but there are thousands of others waiting to be discovered.

Porto & the North offer countless charms and sites, where tradition and modernity live side by side. Douro, Foz Côa Valley, Gerês National Park contrast with its vibrant cities.

Centre of Portugal a diverse region where historical villages, five UNESCO sites, unspoiled nature and Europe’s surf Mecca will provide exceptional memories.

Alentejo’s vast plains, white villages, offer visitors the unique experience of Dark Skies, the life cycle of cork, megalithic sites and impressive marble quarries.

Cosmopolitan Lisbon attracts visitors looking for bustling nightlife within the charms of a city surrOld Lisbon
ounded by the seaside resorts of Estoril and Cascais with its luxury through
contemporary offering.

Algarve’s white golden beaches, diverse top accommodation, combined with its balmy weather and activities make this region a favourite among UK tourist

Madeira’s blessed mild year round weather invites visitors to explore its diverse lush landscape. A packed calendar of events, combined with top quality accommodation and gastronomy complete a memorable holiday experience.

Set within its volcanic unique landscapes the Azores 9 islands attract those seeking raw nature, warm waters bathed by the Gulf Stream.

We would surely come back there as soon as we find time to travel. My friend also recommended that during our stay in Portugal, we may need to use the NIF Portugal if we plan to open a bank account, get a phone, internet or utilities contract, buy or rent a property, and many more.
